If you keep chickens, you know how important it is to feed them well and regularly. But what if you are away from home and can’t give them their daily meal? Well, one Kenyan man has found a solution to this problem. He created a device that can feed his chicken automatically by just making a phone call.
The man, who goes by the name @kamtascientist on TikTok, shared a video of his invention and explained how it works. He said he simply calls another phone that he placed on top of a stick with a container of chicken feed. When the phone rings, it activates a bell that triggers a device that releases the feed. The chickens then rush to eat the maize that falls from the container.
He demonstrated this by calling the phone number saved as kuku (which means chicken in Swahili) and showed how the feed dispenser started working. He then hung up the call, and the device stopped.

The video went viral on TikTok, and many Kenyans have praised his creativity and ingenuity. Some even suggested ways he could improve his invention or use it for other purposes. Here are some of the comments:
Priscillah: “This is brilliant.”
Fred Williams: “You can as well use it to trigger an alarm for security alert when you are using CCTV to monitor your home on your phone.”
Lizette 254: “Creative and funny at the same time.”
Billbot6: “Amazing invention. To be successful, it’s either you be an investor or an inventor.”
Sammy cubes n containers: “Intelligence at work.”
Getting A Job: “Genius! Keep working on the idea. Many urban farmers will appreciate it.”
Kamale: “Boss, when you improve it so that it dispenses feeds multiple times get in touch. I am interested.”
